16:00 Christie’s Foxhunter Steeple Chase

Friday 16th March – 16:00 Christies Foxhunter Steeple Chase

The Foxhunter Chase is a Class B race run over 3 miles and 2 and a half furlongs on the same course as the Cheltenham Gold Cup. It has 22 fences to jump. The Foxhunter Chase is one of the oldest races at Cheltenham, having first run in 1904. The race is open to horses that are 5 years old or more and have qualified via previous foxhunter chases. The field tends to be a combination of older horses nearing retirement and younger horses making the transition from the Point to Point circuit.
