The 2012 Ryanair Chase is a Class A Grade 1 chase run over 2 miles and five furlongs with 17 fences to jump. It is run on the New Course at Cheltenham . The Ryanair Chase is another of the new races to be incorporated into the 4 day Cheltenham Festival and this year will be the eighth time this race has been run, having replaced the Cathcart Challenge Cup. The race is restricted to horses aged 5 years and over and has a prize fund of £250000.
