Wednesday is Ladies Day at Cheltenham and the first race -The National Hunt Chase Challenge Cup – is actually the oldest race at Cheltenham. It is also the longest at 4 miles and 1 furlong. This race traditionally attracts large fields attempting to win the £75000 purse. The race is open to horses aged 5 and older and only amateur jockeys are allowed to compete. This year the race is being name the Diamond Jubilee National Hunt to honour the Queens Diamond Jubilee.
