Tuesday 13th March – 17:15 Centenary Novice Chase

The final race on the opening day of Cheltenham is run on the Cheltenham Old Course over a distance of 2 miles and 4.5 furlongs. There are sixteen fences to jump along the course. This handicap race is for novice chasers with a handicap rating of between 0-140. This race was sponsored up until 2010 by Jewson, until they transferred their sponsorship to a new race (The Jewson Novices Chase). When run as the Jewson Novices Chase this race was run over the Cheltenham New Course at a slightly longer distance.
